Step 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Gifted this to my son who's just got into cooking. He cant stop raving about it. The presentation box was a nice touch, made it feel special.
I'm no pro but this makes me feel like one. So satisfying to use. The weight distribution is spot on, I can chop fast without tiring. A proper investment.
I do a lot of prep at the weekend and this has made it so much quicker. Tear through carrots and spuds like nothing. The Damascus layers catch the light lovely.
Great knife. The handle is comfy even after a long session. Ive got big hands and it still feels good. The blade is thin enough for precise work but sturdy enough for root veg.
Been using this daily for about 3 weeks now and its still razor sharp. The steel is ace, no staining either. Nice weight to it, not too heavy not too flimsy.
Perfect size for a general purpose chef knife. The 7.9 inch blade is just right for my small kitchen. Came wicked sharp, havent needed to hone it yet after two weeks.
Got this for my mum who loves cooking. She says its the best knife shes used. Thin slices of roast beef without tearing. The handle is a nice dark wood.
Had this for a few weeks now. Cant fault the quality. The 67 layers look mint and it holds its edge really well. My old knife was a pain, this is a joy.
Solid all-rounder. It's replaced my old chef knife. I do find the blade a smidge too flexible for my liking when cutting hard veg, but it's not a dealbreaker.
Its ok. Came sharp enough, handles everyday chopping. For the price I was hoping for something that felt a bit more special. It's just a good knife, not great.
