Not sure which knife?
Answer a few quick questions about how you cook, and we'll match you with the perfect blade.
Step 1, Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher, the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2, Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink, even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3, Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer, it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it, no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Ok so I've had this knife about three weeks. It's sharp and looks nice enough with the damascus but for £80 I expected a bit more. The handle took some getting used to, feels a bit light compared to the blade which throws the balance off for me. Does the job on veg and boneless meat but I don't reach for it as much as my old Wusthof. Not a bad knife, just not quite there for the price.
Got this for my husband's birthday and hes over the moon with it. The damascus pattern is even nicer in person, proper eye catching. Sharp out the box, sliced through a tomato paper thin first go. Hes been using it for everything since. Came really well packaged too, no complaints at all.
Really nice knife, holds an edge well. Bit heavier than I expected but thats not a bad thing really. Used it for onions and spuds mostly, very smooth.
Bought this for my husband's birthday and hes well chuffed. The handle shape took a bit of getting used to, its quite different to our old set, but now he really likes it. Damascus pattern is stunning in person, even nicer than the photos. Came well packaged too. My only gripe is I wish they did a longer version cos hes got big hands. Still a great knife for the price.
Really nice knife, sharp out the box and the damascus pattern looks lovely. Used it for prepping veg all week and it glides through everything. Only slight niggle is it's a touch heavier than my old one so my wrist aches a bit after a long session, but that's probably just me getting used to it. Would still recommend.
Bought this for my partner whos a chef and hes absolutely chuffed with it. Said the balance is spot on and the edge retention is impressive - hes been using it daily for a month and its still razor sharp. The 67-layer pattern looks even better in person. Bit heavier than his old Wusthof but he prefers the weight now. Came well packaged, no complaints at all.
Got this gyuto last week and honestly cant believe how sharp it is. The Damascus pattern is proper stunning and it slices through everything so smoothly. Makes prepping veg actually fun. Arrived in a nice box too.
Got this for my husband for our anniversary and hes absolutely chuffed with it. The pattern on the blade is gorgeous, photos dont do it justice. I used it to slice a sirloin and it went through like butter, edge is mental sharp. Feels really well balanced in the hand too. Proper chunky handle but its comfy. Delivery was spot on, came in a nice box as well.
Got this as a birthday present for my husband and he hasn't stopped using it. Said its a massive upgrade from the old set we had. He loves the balance and how it feels in his hand. Arrived in a nice box as well, which was a bonus.
It's a decent enough knife, does the job. Cuts well and the Damascus pattern looks alright. But I dunno, for seventy quid I was expecting a bit more wow factor if I'm honest. Feels a bit like my old ProCook one just fancier looking. Good but not great.
