Sold OutStep 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Really pleased with this overall. Sharpens up nicely and holds an edge well. Only small thing is I wish the handle was a touch more contoured, but I'll probably get used to it. Still a cracking knife for the price
Third knife I've bought from this shop. The 67 layer steel is no joke, holds an edge beautifully and looks gorgeous when the light catches it. Made quick work of filleting a salmon
upgraded from a supermarket chef knife and honestly wish I'd done it sooner. This thing glides through veg, and the weight feels really nice. The presentation box was a lovely touch too
Love the weight of this knife, some japanese knives feel too light but this has a nice heft to it without being clunky. Makes chopping dense veg like squash much easier
Yes the Damascus cladding is mostly for show but who cares when it looks this good. Actually performs brilliantly too, the VG10 core takes a wicked edge. Much better than my old Wusthof
Bought as a present and the recipient loved it. The presentation box is really nice. Only thing I'd say is I wish it came in a slightly longer size, an inch or two more wouldve been ideal for bigger hands. But it's still a beautiful knife
Does what it says on the tin. razor sharp, nice balance, the damascus cladding is very pretty. I think for the price it's spot on, I just slightly prefer a traditional octagonal handle rather than this resin one. But I'm being picky
Great knife, the blade geometry is excellent for precise cutting. I do find it a tad handle heavy which is unusual for Japanese knives, but it's not a dealbreaker. Very sharp and the damascus pattern gets comments whenever people see it
Good weight, lovely balance. The resin handle has a nice subtle shimmer to it. Edge was very sharp out the box and the blade profile is great for a rocking chop
arrived next day which was a bonus. Been using it for about a month now for everyday cooking and it's still razor sharp. The handle feels really solid and not slippery when wet
