Sold OutStep 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
got this for my husbands birthday and he absolutely loves it. sliced through a brisket like butter. proper sharp.
Ok so I was a bit sceptical at forty quid but honestly this is a cracking knife. The 15 degree angle really makes a difference. I've since bought the santoku too.
Good all-rounder, I gave it to my son for his first flat. The edge is good but I had to show him how to hone it properly as it lost bite after a week of heavy use. Comes back easily though. Overall decent.
Sharpest knife I've owned. Slices tomatoes without squashing them. The handle is comfy too even with wet hands.
Very impressed. Fit and finish is lovely, no gaps on the handle, blade is straight as an arrow. Cuts like a dream.
Not bad, not great. Cuts well when it's sharp but I had to put in some work on the stones to get there. The grind out the box was a bit uneven, so it wedged in carrots. After a bit of fettling it's better. For 40 quid it's acceptable.
Brilliant all rounder. Done everything from finely dicing onions to slicing bread (yes, a gyuto can do that). Edge is still sharp after 3 weeks heavy use.
My first Japanese style knife and I'm a convert. The rocking motion is so smooth. Prepping dinner is actually enjoyable now lol
Came really quick and well packaged. Knife is lovely but the gyuto profile is a bit more curved than I'm used to, I'm more of a santoku chap. Still, a nice bit of steel.
Love the weight of this. Feels substantial but not too heavy. Great for chopping herbs and garlic finely. Definitely getting one for my daughter at uni.
