Step 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Good value for AUS10 steel. Cuts beautifully and holds an edge. The handle is a bit plain looking compared to my other knives, but functionally it's fine. The performance makes up for it. 4 stars.
Only had it a few days but I'm already impressed. Made a huge batch of coleslaw and the knife just breezed through a mountain of cabbage. The thin blade makes a real difference. Well packaged too.
Got this for the Mrs and she's over the moon. She says its the comfiest knife she's used. Slices veg so thin you can see through it. Couldn't be more pleased.
Great knife for the price, cuts brilliantly. I do wish it came in a nice box though. I keep it in a drawer and it would've been nice to have a box for storage. But the knife itself is spot on.
I'm a home cook and this is a cracking knife. The blade is thin and precise. My only wish is that it was slightly longer, 8 inch feels a bit short for some tasks, but that's personal pref. Otherwise, excellent.
My husband got me this and I have to say its the nicest kitchen implement I own. Even the in laws were impressed when I carved the Christmas turkey. Sharp, comfy, beautifully balanced.
Ok so I'm not a pro but this gyuto makes me feel like one. Slice through onions like butter. The handle is comfy and it looks proper smart. Well chuffed.
Nice knife, real sharp out the box. The balance is more handle-heavy than I'm used to but I'm adapting. Works a treat. Would buy again if it came in a 240mm option.
Lovely looking blade and the fit and finish is great. Its a bit heavier than I expected, more substantial than my old Japanese knife, but I've come to like the extra weight for chopping. Performance is superb, no complaints there.
Got this for me dad for his birthday and he absolutely loves it. Reckons it's the best kitchen knife he's used. Proper sharp and holds an edge well.
