Sold OutStep 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Its a decent knife, not gonna lie. Sharp enough straight away and does the job on most things. But for 70 quid I was expecting a bit more. The edge doesn't seem to hold as long as I thought it would, maybe after a few weeks it started to dull a bit. It's fine for home use but nothing special. Probably wouldn't buy again but it's okay for now.
So I bought this on a whim after reading some reviews and I'm dead chuffed with it. The balance is perfect for my hand, and the 8.5 inch blade feels just right for most jobs. Used it to break down a whole chicken and it made quick work of the joints. Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed.
I've had this a couple months now and its still going strong. The 73 layers of Damascus steel sound fancy but honestly what matters is how it feels. Slices tomatoes like they're not there, no crushing at all. Would recommend to anyone wanting to step up their kitchen game.
Got this for my husband for his birthday and hes over the moon with it. He's a chef and says the edge is brilliant, really sharp out the box. Cant believe how smoothly it glides through veg, its like a hot knife through butter. Lovely weight to it as well.
Great knife, especially considering the price point. The Damascus pattern is lovely and it cuts like a dream. My only complaint is the packaging was a bit excessive, lot of cardboard for just one knife. But the knife itself is solid, been using it for a month and it holds its edge well. Would buy again.
Good knife for the money, no doubt. The blade is razor sharp and glides through onions with zero tears. Just wish the handle was a tad thicker, feels a bit slim in my hand. Also slightly heavier than I expected but I actually prefer it now, gives it a solid feel. Definitely a step up from the Procook set I had.
Bought this as a present for the missus and shes happy with it. She says its a joy to use on veg, really sharp and precise. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is she mentioned the balance feels a bit forward for her, but I tried it and it's fine for me. So depends on your preference I suppose.
Honestly, this knife is a dream to use. Been using it daily for about two weeks now and its still got that factory sharpness. The Damascus pattern is gorgeous, my mates were well impressed when I showed them. Massive upgrade from my old Victorinox, no comparison.
Really nice knife overall, sharp as anything and looks the part on the block. My only minor gripe is the handle shape took a bit of getting used to, it's a bit different to what I'm used to. But after a week I don't notice it anymore. Wish it came in a longer size for bigger tasks but the 8.5 works fine for everyday use.
Gift for my dad who's a keen cook and he reckons it's the best knife he's ever owned. He's already text me saying its a pleasure to use and the edge retention is unreal for the price. The presentation box was a nice touch too, came well packaged.
