Not sure which knife?
Answer a few quick questions about how you cook, and we'll match you with the perfect blade.
Step 1, Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher, the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2, Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink, even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3, Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer, it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it, no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Really nice knife, very sharp out of the box. Handle took a bit of getting used to, feels a bit rounder than my old one, but after a few days I actually prefer it now. Wish they did a 10 inch version as the 8 inch feels a touch short for large cabbages. Still a solid buy for the price.
Got this for my husband's birthday, he's a proper foodie and has been after a decent gyuto for ages. Honestly the blade is stunning, you can see the layers in the steel when the light hits it. He used it to slice through a whole ribeye and it was like butter. Massive upgrade from the cheap set we had. Came in a lovely box as well.
Got this for my husband for his birthday and hes over the moon with it. I've been using it a bit myself as well and the edge is honestly ridiculous, sliced through a butternut squash like it was butter which my old knife used to struggle with. The pattern on the blade is lovely too, looks way more expensive than 80 quid. Came in a nice box as well which was a bonus.
Really nice knife, sharp out the box and the Damascus finish looks great. Its a touch heavier than what I'm used to with my old gyuto so took a couple of days to get the feel for it, but now I reach for it without thinking. Would have liked a 9 inch option but overall happy.
Got this knife a month ago and honestly its brilliant. The pattern on the blade looks even better in person, proper bit of kit. Used it for everything from finely chopping garlic to slicing roast beef and it just glides through. Edge has held up really nicely too, way sharper than my old supermarket knife. Only thing is the handle took a couple days to get used to cos its a bit different shape but now I love it.
bought this for my husband for his birthday, he's been going on about getting a proper Japanese chefs knife for ages. He proper loves it, just stands there admiring the damascus pattern. Been using it daily and says it makes prepping veg actually enjoyable. Came in a nice box too which was a suprise, made the gifting extra special.
Bought this for my dads 60th cos hes always going on about getting a proper Japanese knife. He absolutely loves it, keeps showing everyone the pattern on the blade. I had a go with it when i was over and its stupidly sharp, slices through tomatoes like nothing. He said it makes prep work so much quicker and the balance is spot on for him. Came really well packaged and delivered next day which was a bonus.
got this knife about a month ago and honestly I'm well impressed. used it pretty much every day since and its still razor sharp which is mad considering I've not sharpened it once. massive upgrade from my old global knife that i thought was decent until this arrived. the damascus pattern is proper beautiful and it makes cutting through stuff like butternut squash and onions feel effortless. handle was a bit different to what im used to, bit more rounded, but after a few days it started feeling really natural and now i prefer it. the box it came in was really nice too, felt like a proper treat opening it.
got this for my husbands birthday and hes over the moon with it. the damascus pattern is gorgeous and its absolutely razor sharp. weve been using it daily for over a fortnight now and its still cutting like day one. proper bit of kit this
Ok so I've had this knife for about 3 weeks now and its brill. Mainly use it for veg and boneless meat, it flies through onions and tomatoes. The blade is beautiful, the pattern looks even better than the photos. It's slightly heavier than what I'm used to but I actually prefer the balance now. Came really well packaged and fast delivery too. Very happy
