SaleThree stars. It's fine. Looks nice and it's sharp. I don't know, maybe my expectations were too high. It's a good knife but I'm not sure it's £60 good. Does what it says on the tin, nothing more nothing less.
Ok so I've been using this daily for about 3 weeks now, mostly for prepping veg and breaking down chicken. The Damascus steel is beautiful and it's held its edge really well so far. Handle feels solid in the hand, not slippery at all. Massive upgrade from my old Procook set.
Used it to slice some smoked salmon really thin and it was effortless. The blade is just so precise. Really happy with my purchase.
Positive overall. Does everything you'd want a gyuto to do, and the finish is lovely. My minor gripe is I wish it was maybe a half inch longer, just a personal preference for my big hands. Still a fantastic bit of kit for the price though.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. Upgraded from a cheap supermarket one and the difference is night and day. The weight is perfect for a rocking motion and it just glides through onions. Lovely edge on it.
I was a bit nervous spending this much on a knife but honestly its worth it. The sharpness is on another level, I cant believe how easily it goes through onions. My favourite kitchen tool now.
So I got this knife as a birthday present for my wife who's really into cooking. Honestly, shes over the moon with it. The pattern on the blade is stunning, and she says its the sharpest knife shes ever used, makes slicing veg an absolute breeze. It came in a really nice box as well which was a nice touch.
Great knife, makes prep so much faster. My small gripe is I wish the blade was a tiny bit taller from the edge to the spine, gives a bit more knuckle clearance. Still, its a quality bit of kit.
Really nice knife, feels great and is super sharp. The only thing is the handle shape is a bit different to what I'm used to, took a day or two to get comfortable with it. Still, cuts like a dream and looks the part.
My son got me this for fathers day, what a treat. Its a proper chefs knife. The balance is perfect right where the blade meets the handle, makes it feel really nimble.
Massive upgrade from my old supermarket knife. The weight and the way it fits in your hand is just different. Used it to break down a whole chicken and it handled everything perfectly.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. Lovely edge on it.
Came really well packaged in a nice box, arrived next day which was a bonus. Knife itself is stunning, the damascus pattern is even nicer in person. Cuts like a dream.
So I've been using this for a couple weeks now, its absolutely brilliant. The edge is just ridiculously sharp, makes prepping veg a total breeze. The pattern on the blade is gorgeous too, feels like a proper bit of kit.
Its a decent knife. Does the job fine, sharp enough. I guess I was expecting to be more blown away for the price? It's good, but it doesn't feel like a massive leap from my old one which was half the cost. Its alright.
Really nice knife, super sharp and looks the part. My only very minor thing is the handle shape is a bit different to what I'm used to, took a day or two to get comfortable with it. Still a great knife though.
Positive overall. The blade is stunning and crazy sharp. Handle is comfortable but I think I'd prefer a darker wood colour personally. That's just aesthetics though, it works perfectly.
Four stars because its a bit heavier than I was expecting. Having said that, after using it for a week I actually prefer the weight now, it does a lot of the work for you. Cuts brilliantly.
Way better than the Procook set I had. This one feels like a tool, not just a knife. The handle has a nice texture to it, doesn't slip even when my hands are a bit wet.
I was worried it might be too big but the 8 inch size is spot on. Its so sharp I actually had to be more careful at first! Beautiful pattern on the steel.
Ok so first proper Japanese knife and I'm impressed. The handle feels great, not too heavy. The blade just falls through food, its made cooking way more enjoyable.
The presentation was really nice, felt like opening something special. The knife itself is sharp out of the box and feels solid. Makes quick work of herbs and veg.
Got this to replace a cheap santoku. The difference is night and day. The gyuto shape is perfect for the rocking motion I use, feels so much more controlled. Lovely bit of craftsmanship.
I do a lot of cooking and this has become my go-to. The length is perfect for most tasks, and the damascus steel seems to resist sticking better than my old one. Just a joy to use.
Bought this as a birthday present for my husband who loves to cook. He was over the moon with it. Says the balance is spot on and it glides through tomatoes like they're not even there.
