Shikoku 7" Nakiri Knife 菜切り包丁
The Shikoku 7" Nakiri Knife delivers the precision and balance of professional Japanese-style cutlery, designed to make vegetable preparation effortless and elegant. Its broad blade and fine edge transform everyday chopping into a smooth, controlled experience.
AUS10 Steel Core
Forged from premium AUS10 steel, the blade combines impressive hardness with excellent edge retention. Honed to a razor-sharp cutting angle, it glides through everything from tender herbs to dense root vegetables. The hammered finish across the upper blade reduces drag and prevents food from sticking, ensuring each cut is clean and efficient.
Olive Wood Handle
The handle is crafted from golden olive wood, prized for its warm color and naturally intricate grain. Smooth and beautifully contoured, it offers a comfortable, balanced grip that remains secure even during long prep sessions. Its octagonal design provides both control and elegance for chefs and home cooks alike.
Effortless Cutting Performance
Perfectly weighted and thoughtfully balanced, the Shikoku Nakiri allows for clean, precise cuts and easy scooping of prepared ingredients. Its wide blade and razor-sharp edge make it ideal for all types of vegetable work, from fine chiffonades to hearty slices.
A Statement of Culinary Craftsmanship
Combining modern AUS10 performance with the timeless beauty of olive wood, the Shikoku 7" Nakiri Knife is more than a kitchen tool. It is a piece of functional art that elevates your cooking experience and brings both luxury and confidence to every meal.

Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. Lovely edge on it.
I use this mostly for leafy greens and cabbages, it's absolutely ideal. Cuts cleanly without crushing. A fantastic bit of kit for the money.
Ok so first proper Japanese knife and I'm converted. The way it handles dense veg like potatoes and swede is incredible, no sticking at all. Really well made.
Bought this as a birthday present for my husband who loves cooking. He was over the moon. Said the balance is brilliant and the hammered finish really does stop stuff sticking. Came in a nice box too which made it feel a bit special.
So I got this to replace my old, rubbish supermarket knife. Honestly, cant believe the difference. The weight is just right and it absolutely flies through onions and carrots, no sticking at all. Been using it for a fortnight now and its still razor sharp. Proper chuffed with it.
I was a bit nervous buying a proper Japanese knife online but I'm really impressed. It arrived next day which was a bonus, and it's just a joy to use. Cuts through butternut squash like it's butter.
Ok so I was a bit nervous spending this much on a knife but it's a massive upgrade from my old Procook set. The blade is so thin and sharp, it just glides. Makes prepping veg for a Sunday roast an absolute doddle. Arrived next day which was a bonus.
Very pleased overall. The edge retention is impressive. I do wish it came in an 8 inch option as I've got quite large hands, but for the price it's fantastic.
I've been after a proper nakiri for ages and this one is spot on. The flat profile is perfect for chopping herbs and the AUS10 steel seems to hold its edge really well. Handle feels solid in the hand. Used it to make a massive veg curry last night and it was a joy.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. Lovely edge on it.
Perfect for all the veg prep I do. The flat profile is great for a clean push cut, my slices of cucumber and tomato are paper thin now. Highly recommend.
Alright I guess. Gets through onions and peppers okay. The edge was sharp to start but I feel like it's dulled a bit quicker than I'd hoped. It's fine for what it is, just not blown away.
Really nice knife, super sharp and looks great. My only very minor thing is the handle shape, it's a bit square for my grip and took a day or two to get used to. Still a brilliant cutter though.
The weight and balance of this nakiri is spot on. Makes quick work of chopping herbs and the broad blade is great for scooping everything up off the board. Very happy with my purchase.
Great knife, makes prep so much faster. The blade is a beast. Only reason it's not 5 stars is I think the presentation could be slightly better for a gift, but that's just me being picky. The knife itself is top.
Absolutely love this knife. The edge is ridiculously sharp out of the box, makes prepping veg for a Sunday roast an absolute breeze. Cant believe the quality for the price.
Been using this daily for about a month now and the edge is still razor sharp. The AUS10 steel seems to hold up really well. Handle is comfortable even for longer prep sessions.
Three stars. It's a good knife, well made. But I found the 7 inch size a bit awkward, neither here nor there. A bit short for some things, a bit long for others. Probably should have gone for a different style.
Mixed feelings. The blade is quality and it looks the part on the magnetic strip. But honestly, I don't find it that much more efficient than my trusty old santoku for everyday stuff. It's good, not great.
Bought this as a gift for my husband who loves cooking. He's over the moon with it, says it's perfectly balanced and the hammered finish looks really smart. Came in a nice box too.
Upgraded from a standard chef's knife to this for veg prep. The difference is noticeable, much cleaner cuts. I just sometimes miss the curve of a chef's knife for a rocking motion, but that's not what this is for. Very good at its specific job.
Got this to replace an old nakiri that had seen better days. The difference is night and day, the sharpness and control is just on another level. Feels like a proper professional tool.
I’m happy with the performance of this knife. It’s sharp, well-made, and comfortable to use, even for longer cooking sessions.
Bought this for my dad who loves cooking Asian food. He says it's brilliant, but mentioned he would have preferred a darker wood handle for the look. Performance-wise, he's chuffed.
Exceptional sharpness and edge retention; it has become my go-to knife in the kitchen.
