Rumoi 10" Japanese Bread Knife パン切りナイフ
The Rumoi 10" Japanese Bread Knife blends traditional craftsmanship with modern steel technology to create a tool of exceptional sharpness and lasting beauty. Designed for the discerning chef or passionate home baker, it slices through everything from crusty artisan loaves to soft brioche with precision and ease.
Premium AUS Stainless Steel
Forged from high-grade AUS stainless steel, the blade offers superb hardness and edge retention for long-term performance. The finely serrated edge glides cleanly through bread without crushing the crumb, while the hammered finish helps reduce drag and keeps each cut smooth.
Mkuruti Wood Handle
The handle is crafted from richly grained Mkuruti wood, prized for its warm tones and natural strength. Its octagonal shape is carefully balanced for a secure, comfortable grip, giving you control and confidence even during long baking sessions.
Effortless Performance and Elegant Design
Perfect weight distribution and professional serration make every slice feel effortless, whether you are preparing breakfast toast or serving guests at a special gathering. The hammered steel pattern catches the light and adds a striking visual touch, turning a practical tool into a centerpiece of your kitchen.
A Gift of Lasting Craftsmanship
The Rumoi 10" Japanese Bread Knife is both a reliable everyday performer and a showcase of fine artistry. Beautifully crafted and built to endure, it makes an ideal gift for anyone who values quality, style and the pleasure of exceptional baking tools.
Crafted from professional-grade, heat-treated high-carbon steel, Shimeru Knives deliver exceptional sharpness, durability, and edge retention. From the first slice, you’ll experience the precision that sets us apart.
Our knives are guaranteed to be the sharpest you’ve ever owned. No exceptions, no compromises—just razor-sharp blades that elevate your culinary experience.
Shimeru Knives feature uniquely designed handles that not only add a sophisticated touch to your kitchen but also provide a comfortable, secure grip for effortless chopping and slicing.
With a double-bevel edge sharpened to 15°—compared to the standard 20-25° of most Western knives—our blades allow for smoother, faster cuts, enhancing your cooking efficiency by 2 to 3 times.
Not sure which knife?
Answer a few quick questions about how you cook, and we'll match you with the perfect blade.
Step 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Really good knife overall, does the job perfectly on my rye loaves. Only minor thing is the handle feels a tiny bit slim for my hands, but I've gotten used to it now after a few weeks. Would definitely recommend.
Works great for bread and even does a decent job on tougher veg like butternut squash. Slightly heavier than I expected but I actually prefer it now. Just wish it came in a 12 inch version for bigger bakery loaves.
Cant believe how sharp this knife is out the box. Used it to slice up a crusty farmhouse loaf and it just glides through. Even tried it on a ripe tomato just for a laugh and it worked a treat. Really happy with this purchase.
So I finally upgraded from my old Victorinox bread knife and wow what a difference. The scalloped edge on this really does the job, doesnt tear the crumb at all. Feels nice in the hand, proper weight to it. Came in a nice box too which was a bonus.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. I make a lot of sourdough and this makes slicing so much easier. No more crushed crusts or jagged edges. Arrived next day which was a bonus.
Got this for my mum who bakes her own bread every weekend. She rang me up to say how chuffed she is with it, says its the best bread knife shes ever had. Nice long blade too, handles big loaves no bother.
Bought this as a present for my brother who loves baking. He was dead impressed with the quality, said its way better than the Procook set he had. The wooden handle looks lovely too, proper Japanese style.
Nice knife, sharp as anything and cuts clean. The only reason its not 5 stars is the blade is a bit flexy when you're cutting really hard crusts, but it still does the job fine. Good value for the money.
Honestly wasnt expecting much for the price but this thing is brilliant. Cuts through a loaf of sourdough like its butter, no squashing the crust at all. Im well chuffed with it.
Really good knife, does the job perfectly. The only thing is the handle shape is a bit square for my hand, took a day or two to get used to it. But the cutting performance is spot on, slices through crusty bread with no effort at all. Would recommend.
