Power and elegance meet in the [Chosen Name] 5.8" Butcher Knife, designed to handle the heaviest kitchen or outdoor tasks with the refined aesthetics of traditional Japanese blades.
5Cr15MoV Stainless Steel Blade
Forged from premium 5Cr15MoV stainless steel, the blade offers excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance and the toughness needed for breaking down large cuts of meat. Its hammered finish reduces drag and helps prevent food from sticking, giving you clean, effortless cuts every time.
Sandalwood Handle
The handle is crafted from rich, warm sandalwood that provides natural grip and timeless beauty. Its ergonomic shape ensures comfort and control even during extended prep sessions.
Protective Leather Sheath
A custom-fitted leather sheath keeps the knife secure when not in use and makes it easy to carry from kitchen to campsite.

Step 1, Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher, the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2, Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink, even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3, Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer, it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it, no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Got this for breaking down chicken and joints. Its a nice looking knife and the leather sheath is a nice touch but honestly for £45 I expected a bit more from the blade. It cuts ok but nothing special, had to put a better edge on it after a few uses. The sandalwood handle is comfy enough but feels a bit small in my hand. Probably fine if you just want a pretty cleaver but as a proper workhorse it's just ok.
Bought this for my dad as a gift and he said it's decent but hasn't replaced his old faithful. The hammered finish does help with meat not sticking which is good. Blade holds an edge ok but not as long as he'd like. Leather sheath is nice quality. Its not bad, just not worth the price maybe.
Absolutely chuffed with this. Used it to joint a whole chicken and it went through like butter, the hammered finish genuinely helps stop bits sticking. Sandalwood handle feels lovely in the hand and the leather sheath is a nice touch. Arrived next day too. Cracking bit of kit.
Really solid knife, done a few pork shoulders with it no trouble. Only thing is the handle is a bit chunky for my hands so I find it slightly awkward after a while, but that's just me. Edge out the box was decent and the leather sheath is a nice touch. Would still say get it if you need a cheap cleaver.
Got this for me dad for his birthday and he's well chuffed. Used it to joint a whole lamb shoulder and it went through like butter. The hammered finish actually does help stop stuff sticking, which I was a bit sceptical about. Sheath is proper leather too, not that plasticky rubbish. Great knife for the money.
bought this for my husband for his birthday, hes over the moon. used it to joint a lamb shoulder and said it was effortless. nice weight to it, not too heavy. came well packaged as well.
I bought this after my old cleaver handle cracked. This one feels much more sturdy. The hammered texture is a godsend, no more potato sticking. Would buy again.
Cant fault the blade, its brilliant. The leather sheath is nice but the fit is a bit too tight, struggles to go in smoothly. Small thing, but stops me giving 5. Knife itself is spot on.
Had this a month now, use it most days for prepping veg and meat. Still razor sharp, no need to hone yet. The handle has a nice grain to it. Very happy.
So I needed a decent cleaver for breaking down ribs and this does the job proper. The leather sheath is a nice touch, keeps it safe in the drawer. Edge retention seems good so far.
