Step 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Honestly this is a cracking knife for the price. I've been using it for about 6 weeks now and it still glides through tomatoes like they're butter. The handle sits really nice in my hand too.
Ok so I've had this for about a month now and I'm proper impressed. It's replaced three of my old knives already. The blade width is just right for scooping up chopped veg. Arrived next day which was a bonus.
Really good knife, sharp as anything and keeps its edge well. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because its a bit heavier than I expected but after a couple weeks I actually prefer the weight - feels more controlled.
Took a punt on this after reading reviews and I'm so glad I did. The 7.5 inch size is actually perfect for most tasks - not too big for small veg but enough blade for meat. The finish on the blade is really nice too, proper quality feel.
Got this for my dad for Father's Day and he hasn't stopped raving about it. Said it's the best knife he's ever owned and he's been cooking for 40 years. Came in a lovely box too which was a bonus.
Great knife overall but I do wish it came in a slightly longer size for slicing. The 7.5 inch is fine for everyday use though and the edge is excellent. Handle took a little getting used to as its quite thin but I've adapted now.
So I wasn't sure about spending sixty quid on a single knife but I'm glad I did. The balance is spot on and it makes prep work so much faster. Massive upgrade from the crap IKEA set I've been using.
Cant believe how sharp it is. sliced through my finger just brushing it - that's how you know its quality! Seriously though, does a beautiful job on onions and the rocking motion feels natural.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. The edge is razor sharp out the box and it feels solid but not too heavy. Used it on a whole brisket and it handled it no trouble.
My husband bought me this for my birthday and I thought it was a bit posh for cooking but now I get it. Theres a real difference with a proper knife. Makes quick work of everything and the handle is comfortable even when my hands are wet.
